IB Career-related Programme (CP) Resources
The IB Career-related Programme (CP) is a career-focused pathway within the IB continuum, designed for students who want to combine academic rigor with practical, real-world learning. The CP is a three-part educational framework: students complete at least two IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses for theoretical and academic grounding, a career-related study that provides hands-on, real-world application, and the CP Core, which develops the skills and competencies needed for lifelong learning. This collection brings together print, digital, and bundle resources from Collins Education and Hachette Learning, to support CP students and schools.
The CP Core – 4 Components
The CP Core was recently updated, with first teaching from August 2025 and first assessment in May 2027, and now consists of four components:
- Personal and Professional Skills (PPS) – a compulsory component developing transferable skills essential for personal growth and workplace success
- Language and Cultural Studies (previously Language Development) – building communication skills in more than one language, reflecting the IB's commitment to international-mindedness
- Community Engagement (previously Service Learning) – applying academic knowledge and newly developed skills to address a genuine community need
- Reflective Project – an extended, research-based project exploring an ethical issue related to the student's career-related field, externally assessed by the IB
DP courses and career-related study
CP students select at least two courses from the IB Diploma Programme's subject groups to provide academic depth, alongside a career-related study chosen by their school to align with local needs and student career pathways, giving practical, industry-relevant context to their learning.
