MYP Coordinator and MYP Science Educator
Karen has been teaching since 1989. She currently serves as the MYP Coordinator and MYP Science teacher at a school in Colorado. She worked with her school to become an IB World School from the candidate phase through programme evaluation. She has her BS from Colorado State University and her MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. She is an executive board member of IBARMS and volunteers as an IBEN workshop leader, school verification and evaluation team member, and MYP consultant. She wants to extend a special thanks to her daughter, Katy East, for her contributions as an IB teacher as she worked on this Edtrove project.
MYP Science Educator
Christa taught for 28 years before recently retiring. Christa taught all grades 6-12 at some point in her career; however, the majority of those years were spent teaching MYP science to 8th graders. Christa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and her Master of Arts in Teaching both from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. Christa has volunteered as a workshop leader, school verification and evaluation team member, Building Quality Curriculum evaluator, and consultant since 2001.
