Resilience and Perseverance – Lower Elementary Lessons
Help young learners build confidence, courage, and the ability to keep trying.
This is a downloadable PDF.
This five-lesson SEL unit introduces lower elementary students (grades K–2) to the concept of perseverance—what it means to try again, ask for help, and believe in themselves when things feel hard. Through stories, movement, drawing, and reflection, students discover that mistakes are part of learning and that every challenge helps them grow stronger.
Each lesson includes four engaging, hands-on activities designed to help children understand resilience in age-appropriate ways. The resource also includes Pre- and Post-Assessments to track student growth in confidence, effort, and emotional regulation.
All lessons are ready to teach with zero preparation—perfect for morning meetings, SEL time, or counseling sessions.
